Mike Miller: Seemed quite quiet apart from a small number of football supporters. An interesting entrance (you have to pass through most of the pub to get to the bar). Surprisingly small. Typical Greene King beers. Bar staff friendly and apologetic for the football supporters having drunk all the lager.

Rating : 6

Richard Kastein: It was rather quiet the night we visited; with its lights low it did seem to hold a certain intimacy that might be appealing given the right situation. You can learn how it got its name by reading the historical blurb outside.

Rating : 6

Andrew Hollingsworth: Rating : 5
