Mike Miller: Pretty decent, nice outside section for the summer which is a far too small for demand, very good cocktails at a reasonable price, and the beer's quite cheap too. Tetley is available, as is Castle Eden. The food is quite nice, if a little expensive for what you get. A boaties pub - blades and pictures adorn most walls - but don't let that put you off. There's another bar upstairs that can be easily missed by the casual visitor. Has bar billiards - I really must learn what the rules are to this at some point. Almost always very full.

Richard Kastein: Two bars downstairs and seating outside too. Generally pretty full. Has a good, if pricey, range of drinks. A new discovery is the bar upstairs: not as many beers to choose from but a nice homely atmosphere, though we discovered it's not always possible to sit down immediately.

Andrew Holingsworth: This is one of the good city centre pubs. Nice and busy, yet usually able to secure a seat. Serves a range of cocktails for those interested, and has an outside seating area with a view of the multi-storey car-park.

Rating : 6

Rob Hague: (14/01/99) Great, lively pub, fairly central (which, unfortunately, means it isn't near Fitz), and it serves cheap coktails during a happy hour which seems to have extended to 7-11 every day. Try a Brandy Sours (even though it isn't on the menu any more, you can still get it), or have a Castle Eden, unquestionably the best pint of beer in Cambridge (they even use a sparkler. Remarkable).
